the Project
The Mogobane Disabled Persons Committee (MDPC) has plans to create a garden centre on the plot of land allocated to them by the Malete Land Board in Ramotswa. The project will benefit people with disabilities (PWD) and address the previously mentioned issues by providing an avenue whereby PWD can generate income, contribute to their community, and increase awareness about PWD, ultimately empowering themselves in the process. The project will also strengthen the MDPC organization by generating excitement, increasing participation and by increasing organizational effectiveness.
It will benefit the community as a whole by providing employment opportunities and by increasing access to nutritious food options. A portion of the produce generated by the project will be set aside at the end of each harvest to be donated to people living with HIV/AIDS in the community to strengthen their weakened immune systems.
